Off the Bench: Vonn dating pole vaulter, not Tebow?

Lindsey Vonn created a monster this past December when she knelt below the medal stand and Tebowed following her World Cup victory. She figured that it was what all the cool kids were doing, and besides, they both lived in Colorado. But from such modest gestures are rampant romance rumors born. Vonn reflected on this during an interview with Access Hollywood Live?s Billy Bush and Kit Hoover, which will air on Thursday.

It?s a cautionary tale, says Vonn, who repeats that she and Tebow are not involved.

?Who knew it could go that fast?? Vonn said.

?He?s a stud? why not date him?? Billy said of Tebow.

?I?m not going to say that,? Lindsey, who is friends with the NFL star?s brother Robby Tebow, said. ?I asked his brother, I got permission. Everyone else just does Tebowing, I actually had permission from family.? Adding with a laugh, ?[Robby] and I were both very surprised that I married [Tim] and had five kids. I didn?t know that could happen so fast.?

There might not be a romance between the athletes, but Lindsey said she?ll continue to be in Tebow?s corner now that he?s playing for the Jets.

?Gotta support the husband,? she joked.

Meanwhile, the Austrian newspaper ?sterreich says it?s found the guy who Vonn is actually dating. According to the paper, Vonn has been seeing Brad Walker, 30, a U.S. pole vaulter trying to make it to the 2012 Olympics.

Austrian newspaper ?sterreich reported discovering what it called the couple?s ?love nest? in the form of a giant white luxury bus parked in a car park at the Planai ski resort where it said the couple had been spending the night together. The paper then tackled the man it said was her lover ? Brad Walker, 30, ? who they described as nervous as they attempted to interview him about his relationship.
