PORTSMOUTH, N.H. ?

Hundreds of Harley Davidson Riders jumped on their bikes Saturday to remember a firefighter who lost her battle to breast cancer.

40-year-old Sarah Fox died last December after battling breast cancer for four years. This is the third year her friends, family and motorcycle?enthusiasts?came out for "Sarah's Ride" -- the charity motorcycle ride.

This year?s ride had a large police escort to make sure the ride went off without a hitch. Earlier in the week, a driver in Westmoreland crashed into a motorcycle charity ride, killing two drivers.

And in 2010, a Plaistow man plowed his SUV into a charity ride, throwing a woman from her motorcycle. She died instantly.

Organizers expect Sarah?s Ride to raise thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society. The event will also help young girls who share Sarah?s passion for firefighting.

The Portsmouth Firefighters Charitable Association hopes to raise money every year to help more young women realize their dream of becoming a firefighter.

Fox attended the 2011 event, and it?s clear her spirit lives on -- especially in the eyes of her 4-year-old twins. She gave birth to the children on the same day she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
